We currently use Ramos potatoes from the Backhouse family farm in Cowick, East Yorkshire.
- Good size
- Thin skin
- High yield crop
- Ideal for chips & French fries
- Stores well at cool temperatures
- Less sensitive to temperature fluctuation
Ramos is a Dutch-bred crop that creates big-sized high-yields and is so known as the ‘farmers’ potato. With thin skins, they are also very easy to peel and also don’t experience the same problems other potatoes do when stored at cool temperatures.
Ramos potatoes are not as prone to over cooking or under cooking unlike Maris Piper and the end result is a light and fluffy potato center with a slightly crunchy coating. We will always display the type of potatoes we are using and where they were grown and harvested.
We also favor Agria potatoes from Lincolnshire.
